Nigeria are now ranked 38th in the world after climbing up two places in the latest FIFA rankings released on Thursday.
The Super Eagles, who were 40th in the previous world rankings, are also rated fourth on the continent.
Nigeria have not lost any competitive game since German coach Gernot Rohr was employed by the Nigeria Football Federation last year.
Egypt are top in Africa followed by Senegal and African champions Cameroon in the second and third place respectively.
Brazil are the world leaders and are followed by South American rivals Argentina, Germany, Chile and Colombia to make the top five teams in the world.
