Sudan’s president Omar Al-Bashir resigns

Sudan’s longest-serving president Omar Al-Bashir has reportedly been forced to resign.

Al- Bashir who was president for 30 years handed over power to the country’s supreme military council controlled by the armed forces.

The 75-year-old, was indicted for alleged genocide crimes back in 2008 by the International Criminal Court (ICC).

Sudan’s defence minister will reportedly be in charge of the country pending when new elections are held.
