The police in Abuja have arrested three suspected armed robbers following a tip-off from a residence in the Federal Capital Territory.
The FCT police spokesman, ASP Usen Omorodion, said the men were apprehended around 11am on Tuesday along Rugger Road, Wuye, Abuja.
The suspects, Samaila Ibrahim, Abubakar Haruna and Yahaya Isah, of no fixed address were found in possession of a toy pistol, wrapped substance suspected to be Indian hemp and charms.
“The anti-crime patrol unit, Wuye division swooped on the suspects few minutes of being notified of their activities at Rugger Road,” Omorodion said.
He disclosed that the FCT Commissioner of Police, Musa Kimo, had directed all area commanders, divisional police officers and heads of departments in the command to intensify efforts to make Abuja crime-free.
