First Nigerian female taekwondo black belt holder Tayo Popoola has been elected as the president of the Lagos State chapter of the National Association of Women in Sports.
In an election held at the secretariat of the Lagos State Sports Writers Association of Nigeria at the National Stadium, Lagos, Toun Engore was elected as the vice-president and coordinator of the body.
Bridget Ibenero retained her office as the Secretary-General of Lagos Nawis, with Emem Ikhaobomeh her assistant.
The post of financial secretary went to Victoria Uwagba while Philpa Oputa emerged as the Treasurer of the group.
Medina Ukah is the Public Relations Officer while Onyeka Onuorah clinched the Welfare Officer seat.
Mrs Funmi Adako, who has just claimed NAWIS slot in the incoming board of the Nigeria Tennis Federation, made it a double victory by emerging as the Lagos NAWIS Director of Research.
Pastor Popoola, Emelia Edet, Mrs Jegede and Gloria Obajimi were appointed as ex-officio members.
