The Legal, Public Affairs and Communications Director, Nigerian Bottling Company, Mrs. Sade Morgan, has advised high-performing pupils not to rest on their oars, but remain focused and strive to beat their own records.
She said this in Lagos while addressing winners of the Lagos State School’s Debate Competition on Thursday. The grand finale, which was in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the state was sponsored by the NBC.
About 631 public schools and 34 private schools participated in the competition. The public schools were drawn from the six educational districts and 20 educational zones in the state.
A cash prize of N250,000 was presented to United Senior High School, Ikorodu, by the NBC for emerging the winner. Vetland Senior Grammar School, Agege, was rewarded with N150,000 while Epe Senior Grammar School, Epe, was rewarded with N100,000 for emerging in the second and third positions respectively.
Morgan said, “We have decided to sponsor this laudable competition because we believe that corporate organisations should focus on listening to, celebrating and rewarding our future leaders.”
