In the match day 6 of the NPFL in Akure, MFM FC defeated Sunshine Stars by a lone goal.
Wahab Bankole, Media Manager of Sunshine Stars FC of Akure has blamed ill luck for the defeat suffered by the team in their Sunday encounter with Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministry (MFM) FC of Lagos.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that in the match day 6 of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) in Akure, MFM FC defeated Sunshine Stars by a lone goal.
Bankole said in a statement on Monday in Akure that the team’s loss was caused by ill luck and several penalties which were ignored by the referee.
“There are several factors such as ill luck and ignored penalties, among others, which could have changed the tide of the game.
“The club’s management, however, appeals to our fans and spectators to remain calm and keep the faith as there is still a long way to go in the league.
“The management which is determined to produce a team capable of competing at the highest level will continue to give the much needed encouragement to the technical crew,” he said.
Bankole commended fans and other stakeholders for their support and maturity even in defeat and also advised the technical crew to correct some of the lapses noticed so far in future encounters.
