The Queen has just made history as the first British monarch to celebrate a Sapphire Jubilee, meaning it's 65 years since she acceded to the throne.

To mark to occasion, Buckingham Palace has re-released a famous photo showing the Queen wearing some seriously opulent sapphire jewellery.

Aside from the current relevance to the Sapphire Jubilee, there's also a symbolic reason behind the Queen's choice of jewellery.

The suite of sapphires were given to her by her father King George VI as a wedding present in 1947.
