Tinubu, Oyegun: APC chieftain uncovers 'grand plot' to kick out national leader, others

Oyegun

The APC chieftain expressed concerns at the "dictatorial" leadership style of Chief Oyegun.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) deputy publicity secretary, Timi Frank says the national chairman, John Odigie-Oyegun is running the affairs of the ruling party like a dictator.

The APC chieftain described the Oyegun’s decision to review the party’s constitution as a “grand plot” against him, the national leader of the party Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and other leaders who oppose his leadership style.

Oyegun had on Wednesday set up a constitution review committee headed by the APC national legal adviser, Muize Banire, with a charge to closely look at the provisions for members discipline.

But Frank, maintained that Oyegun is “vigorously working” to ensure that he expels some prominent APC members who have spoken against “his dictatorial leadership style.”

“It is shameful for the national chairman to talk of indiscipline when he has breached the same constitution more than any other persons,” Frank’s said in a statement on Thursday, January 26, 2017.

He continued: “Oyegun's leadership has breached APC constitution several times, even as regard to national convention which the party law states clearly that it must be held every two years.

"Oyegun is talking about indiscipline when there are several allegations of bribery and favoritism yet unanswered hanging on his neck.

“I challenge Oyegun to tell the world how he plans to fill some vacant positions in the NWC when he is talking of non-elective national convention.

"Some of us have prepared to meet them at the convention no matter the evil agenda they are planning against us.

"The new APC template is designed to favour themselves and some view interest within the party ahead of 2019 general elections."

He, however, called on other party members to look critically and reject the convention template as prepared by Oyegun.
