The new president of Gambia, Adama Barrow finally returned to the country on Thursday, January 26.
Barrow, who had been taking refuge in neighboring Senegal, arrived Banjul airport to a celebratory welcome from the Gambian people.
The people trooped out en masse to receive the new leader after weeks of political tension caused by overstayed president, Yahya Jammeh, who refused to leave office after he lost in the December 1 presidential election.
